The 2015-16 growing season yielded a warm, dry Spring with good conditions for flowering and fruit set. Generally
mild conditions throughout late Jan/Feb along with fortuitous summer rains resulted in slow, even ripening with dense colours and vibrant flavours. A high quality vintage, that produced generous yields.
Destemmed and fermented to dryness. 12 days on skins. Basket pressed to tank. Upon completion of MLF, transferred to barrel for 24 months in French oak hogsheads.
Deep crimson red, the wine shows beautifully lifted aromatics of blackcurrant, spiced cherry and mint chocolate.
The palate delivers weight and fruit generosity with savoury spice adding further depth and complexity. The wines silky texture and chalky tannin gives the wine an age worthy framework. Generosity of primary fruit gives the wine
immediate drinking appeal, while its complexity and depth in structure will reward those with patience.
