2022 Riesling

Single Vineyard
Light Pass, Barossa Valley

Our Vineyard situated at Light Pass in the North- East Barossa Valley, has an elevation just shy of 300M. Eden Valley, only a couple of km`s to our east is where the North-Para River rises and flows out of the hills through our property, bringing cooling gully breezes during the Summer months-perfect for growing fine, delicate, zesty `Rizza`.

A vintage with outstanding quality fruit. The 2021/22 season went `back to back` with 20/21. Good rains over winter and early Spring, setting up beautiful conditions for flowering and fruit set. A setback in October, when a hailstorm swept through the valley, however, damage was isolated. Mild Summer temperatures provided perfect conditions for ripening and harvest. A high quality vintage.

Picked early in the season to retain natural acidity and delicacy. Promptly pressed, taking free run juice only. Bright
clarified juice is fermented cool before stabilization and early bottling.

Tasting Notes
In the glass the wine shows a bright pale straw colour with green hues. Aromatically the wine opens up with delicately lifted florals, lemon zest and some Granny Smith Crunch. A pure line of citrus lingers, its finely textured, crisp and refreshing on the palate. A wine to enjoy now or over the next few years. ALC 11.5%
